CARVED WOODEN HORSE 

This hand carved wooden horse draws from the visual language of West Africa’s Senufo tradition, where form is distilled to its essence and surface becomes a field of rhythm and symbol.

Across its surface, incised geometric markings; triangles, grids, and linear bands, creating a quiet cadence. These motifs echo a broader cultural vocabulary in which pattern carries meaning, memory, and continuity.

The wood has darkened with time, holding a soft, uneven patina. Subtle variations in tone and texture reveal the hand of the maker, along with traces of use and age and sits on a fixed rectangular base of the same material. 

This is a piece that holds space. Its presence is steady, grounding, and quietly expressive, well suited to interiors that value material honesty, symbolism, and form. Placed alone, it reads as a sculptural anchor. Within a collection, it offers contrast - structure against softness, line against texture.

Delivery

Each artefact is carefully prepared and packed by hand before dispatch. Smaller pieces are typically shipped within 2-4 working days via tracked delivery. Larger, heavier, or more fragile objects may require a specialist courier service to ensure safe arrival. Where this applies, we will contact you directly to arrange the most appropriate delivery method for your piece. Tracking information will be provided once your order has been dispatched.
